At Creator Now, our mission is to help creators grow online and empower them to pursue career opportunities in the creator economy. Picture film school, but reimagined for YouTube.

As a mobile-focused developer at Creator Now, you will be responsible for adding our existing web tools to our mobile experience and creating a frictionless mobile experience for our members. As one of our early software engineers, you’ll act as a key thought partner and collaborator around the strategic direction of key business and technology decisions at Creator Now. You should be comfortable in an environment where we like to hack & break things fast! We believe in a lean team where everyone takes extreme ownership and has a set of core responsibilities and goals rather than assigning task lists.

What Will You Do?

• Help lead all technical aspects of the mobile app deployment, testing, and app store submission processes.
• Plan, build, and deploy new features using cutting-edge mobile development frameworks and libraries such as React Native and Redux.
• Collaborate with our team to implement mobile analytics and tracking tools in order to measure and improve user engagement.
• Participate in the development of mobile security best practices and help implement them in our mobile applications.
• Help lead all technical aspects of the app development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, strategic planning, architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance.
• Work within a team of industry leading engineers from Harvard & The University of Waterloo.

A Day In The Life of a Creator Now Engineer:

• Start your day by aligning with a team of world-class engineers to clarify and plan the necessary steps towards accomplishing your goals.
  • You have full ownership over your feature/deliverable — that means we trust you to be responsible for your own task list. We do not follow a strict, text-book style agile method, instead we keep processes as lean as possible in order to optimize for speed & quality.
• You take breaks as you wish — as long as you are putting in the energy necessary to generate the mutually agreed upon results.
• If something breaks along the way, you take ownership to fix it with any help needed from other engineers as well as direct support from the co-founders.
  • When something goes wrong, we come together to find a solution and collaboratively reflect on what we can do to improve moving forward.
• You will share your work iteratively using Loom recordings with the rest of the team! Communication is key inside Creator Now and we have developed a strong culture of keeping everyone in the loop of what’s happening on all fronts.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development best practices, such as responsive design, device compatibility, and performance optimization.
